The Law of Attraction: Can You Manifest Success?

Manifesting has become a big buzz word ever since ‘The Secret’ became popular, and life coaches and motivational speakers are constantly teaching the power of manifesting the destiny we desire. So what exactly does manifesting mean, and is this all just a bunch of new age crapola?

I personally believe strongly in the power of attraction. Our thoughts create an energy flow and that energy attracts it’s likeness. That’s why if you’re focusing on how much your day is sucking, guess what? You are going to attract more crappy experiences. Alternatively, if you’re in a great headspace and focus on all there is to be grateful for in your day, you’re going to have a much more positive experience, and will attract positive things into your life. So how do you start this process of willing abundance into your life? Follow these steps:

1. Get very clear

Gabby Bernstein (manifestation guru) stresses the importance of having very clear intentions for what you want to bring into your life. If it’s a new job that you want, make a list of all that comes with the job that will make you happy. Maybe it’s the office, the higher salary, the better job title.¬†Knowing exactly what you want begins the creation process and writing it down makes it even more powerful, as research has shown that you are 42 percent more likely to achieve your goals just by writing them down.

Most importantly, focus on how all of those things will ultimately make you feel. At the end of the day, the end goal is to be able to capture the feeling that these accomplishments will produce (proud, respected, independent, worthy etc.) Write down all of the positive feelings that will come as a a result of attaining your desires.

2. Feel it and believe it

Now take these clear intentions and set aside time every day to sit in these feelings that you desire – maybe it’s the first thing you do every morning or the last thing before bed (or both). Make this like your daily meditation where you visualize yourself already in this successful position. Maybe you see yourself in the new office or running your business, or driving the new car you’ve always wanted. The more you feel it, the more you will be able to truly believe that it is on the way to you. You must feel as though all that you want is already present in your life. You want to be a published author? Tell yourself that you’re already published. Tell yourself that you are already running a successful company. Convince yourself, and then let the universe do it’s job.

3. Clear up mental blocks

So you can tell the universe what you want all day, but if you believe that you’re not deserving of success or not good enough for the better job or higher salary, then these are not supporting your desires and you will stay stuck where you are.¬†Take a look at what limiting beliefs are holding you back or keeping you fearful. We all have self doubt and worry about stepping out of our comfort zones. You must recognize them and understand that these limiting beliefs are simply stories that you’ve been telling yourself – they are just bullshit lies that you’ve learned from past failures or experiences and NOT the truth or the reality. Once you are able to clear these doubts, fears, and BS stories of not being deserving or good enough – you’ll be able to open up yourself to receive.

4. Be patient

When you’re certain that things are going to happen (see step 2), then you are able to wait for them patiently without anxiety. Trying to manipulate and force things to happen more quickly then they are supposed to is just another way to mess up what the universe is trying to bring your way. Be sure that you are taking action every day that will bring you closer to your goals, but understand that nothing can be rushed.

 

Trust me, I am one of the most rational and logical people you can meet. I understand that this kind of talk can seem far fetched – but of course I’m not suggesting that you just write down what you want and sit back on your couch and wait for it. As you’re visualizing what you want and really feeling how amazing it is to achieve it, you’ll find that you’re even more inspired to go out and do what it takes to make it happen. As you become more clear on exactly what it is you want, you can start taking the more specific actions that are necessary. It’s about accessing your subconscious or your “energy” and waking it up to take action – and it works. Now manifest away.
